'The Incredibles 2' Takes Place Immediately After The First Film


Following in the footsteps of Lee Unkrich, who took over from Lasseter on Toy Story 3, Cooley will lead Buzz, Woody and the gang on their fourth outing, having come a long way from his days as a Pixar intern on the first Cars film, before stepping up to become a writer on inside Out. Huck Milner will be voicing Dash.

When the sequel to The Incredibles hits theaters in 2018, it will have been 14 years since Pixar first introduced us to the Parr family and their set of powers.

Bird also announced that the team dynamic would change, and Mr. A work-in-progress clip showed Jack-Jack sneaking out of the house while Bob's sleeping to take on a trash-stealing raccoon with his new abilities. "The technology has gotten so much better; We can get them close to what we wanted to do in the [original]".

One of the unique things about the Incredibles is it's really a story of a family set in the world of superheroes.

"I'm so excited about our upcoming movies; they are all hilarious, emotional, attractive and make you think", said Lasseter. "It's like driving a brand-new vehicle".

It was revealed today at D23 that Incredibles 2 will start up immediately after the first one ended. Toy Story 4 opens June 21, 2019.

Fast forward to now, and Pixar's new film. With the working title of Space (as in "this Space to be filled with a title when we think of one"), the film teased two supersonic jets racing through the sky before being soundly thrashed by a high speed craft flies in from the upper atmosphere.

Lasseter has served as head of Disney's entire animation division since 2007, and is slated to direct Pixar's "Toy Story 4", due out 2019. The footage was gorgeous and it wrapped up with a big splash, young actor Anthony Gonzalez who plays Miguel, the young boy at the heart of the movie, singing "Remember Me", written for the movie by "Frozen" songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, before being joined by Benjamin Bratt, who plays Miguel's musical idol in the film, and for good measure, about 150 ballet folklorico dancers on stage and in the aisles.
