Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Ex-Manchester United striker interests MLS duo

Having left Manchester United last month, rumours have been rife linking Ibrahimovic with a move across the Atlantic, with LA Galaxy at the head of the queue for the striker.

Now recuperating from a serious knee injury, there has also been talk that Manchester United could offer him a new deal if he can recover in time for January.

Neither the club or Ibrahimovic has confirmed the deal but Ibrahimovic did tell reporters Wednesday to expect a "huge announcement soon" regarding his playing future.

However, Ibrahimovic is being aggressively pursued by LA Galaxy, who wanted him when he left PSG past year, and are prepared to make him the highest paid player in the MLS.

Los Angeles Galaxy have refused to deny they are in talks to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic, amid reports they have offered a contract to the 35-year-old.

Manchester United begin their pre-season in the searing Californian heat against an LA Galaxy side in the middle of their MLS campaign. "Absolutely (we have room for a marquee player). We always have. The DNA of the Galaxy is to attract world-class players, so we're always looking for one". Giovani dos Santos and Ashley Cole are now the best-known names in a Galaxy side stuttering in the MLS standings.

Ibrahimovic is said to have shown remarkable signs of recovery from the injury that kept him out towards the end of last season, with Jose Mourinho keen to keep him on for another year.

Despite being United's top goalscorer in 2016-17, Ibrahimovic was released by the Premier League giants after suffering a serious knee injury in April.
