Tejaswi Prasad Yadav will not resign: Lalu Prasad

The JD-U also said that Nitish will not compromise on corruption. The RJD leader added that his organization was of the view that if Tejashwi steps down on his own, it would demoralize the party rank and file.

Incidentally, in August last year, The Sunday Guardian had done a story "RJD wants Lalu's son as CM, Nitish rattled", in which Bhagalpur RJD MP Shailesh Kumar alias Bulo Mandal had recommended that Tejashwi Yadav should be made the Chief Minister of Bihar by next year (2017). The reasons here might be Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as Nitish Kumar had openly opposed Modi when he was Gujarat Chief Minister by refusing to share stage with him after the 2002 Godhra riots.

As per RJD game plan, following Tejashwi's exit, our other 11 ministers will resign but the RJD will support the government from outside to keep the Mahagathbandhan intact.

Bihar's deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday rejected corruption charges against him and termed it a conspiracy by the BJP to break the alliance in Bihar.

Congress party president Sonia Gandhi on Friday gave an effort to broker peace between Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad in an effort to save the grand alliance in the state which is losing its cohesiveness with every passing day.

He said the RJD was going by the decision of its legislature party, which met earlier this week and decided that Tejashwi Yadav would not resign.

"There has been no conversation between Sonia Gandhi and me on this issue. We will protect the grand alliance in Bihar".

In his post, (translated into English), Tejashwi Yadav says that he is dependent on the public, dedicated to development, has no love for honor, is not afraid of insults, holds interest of the public as his first priority, and has the poor as his crown.

Labour Minister Vijay Prakash, who is from the RJD, said, "I do not know why Tejaswiji did not come to the function". Nitish switched places with the help of JD (U) minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh who was sitting on his right side. Tejashwi, who was picked over his elder brother Tej Pratap by the RJD patriarch to don the mantle of deputy CM, and Tej had attended the cabinet meeting, chaired by the chief minister, on July 12. "We respect people's mandate and also strictly follow alliance dharma but RJD must give clarification on CBI raids and FIR against their leaders", he said.
