Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Waterloo Region

As the storms move through the state, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings will also pop up here and there for other counties, according to WJZ Meteorologist Tim Williams.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for parts of Maryland, including Anne Arundel and Prince George's Counties. Those areas, plus areas in dark red, are also under a flash flood warning through 7:15 p.m.

The weather agency said there still could be thunderstorms Wednesday evening and possibly overnight into Thursday morning. "Expect damage to trees and power lines". The storms have the potential to become severe, and produce hail the size of golf balls, or even larger, as well as wind gusts in excess of 100km/h.
