In Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Ready Player One, there is a happy escape: The OASIS, a virtual reality wonderland that is saturated in a love of all-things-'80s, Entertainment Weekly reports. Cline said, "His work directly influenced the narrative and the way that I told the story". If you look closely at the high-res image, you can spot a He-Man and the Masters of the Universe lunch box on Wade's table, and some Garbage Pail Kids stickers nearby on the wall. However, there hasn't been much info released on the film. If this movie actually delivers on what it's promising, this might just be the quintessential 1980s throwback film against which all others are judged, until our current crop of movies become fashionably retro instead.
