THERESA, N.Y. (AP) — Funeral arrangements are set for an upstate NY woman allegedly slain by her soldier husband, who's also accused of fatally shooting a state trooper.

The body of his wife, Nichole V. Walters, 27, was found in the driveway with multiple gunshot wounds, Beach said at a Monday afternoon press conference. She was taken to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown and treated for nonlife-threatening injuries.

Several thousand law enforcement officers from across the US and Canada are expected to attend the funeral for a NY state trooper killed in the line of duty.

About 60 state police officers from Troop B in Ray Brook were expected to attend the funeral. "I ask all New Yorkers to keep trooper Davis's family, loved ones and colleagues in the State Police in their prayers during this incredibly hard time".

The 36-year-old was fatally shot Sunday night while responding to reports of gunfire on a couple's property in the town of Theresa. Under some circumstances, members of the State Police are the only law enforcement agents available. "This is a awful loss to everybody in the (community), everyone".
