Blizzard teases Doomfist yet again - will this be the next Overwatch hero?

If you've been following the Overwatch scene for any time at all, you're probably aware that Crews has always been rumored to have some kind of attachment to an as of yet unrevealed character named Doomfist. Whether Doomfist is added or not, it's been quite a while since Blizzard added a new character to the game so it's safe to say that another one is on the way soon. Recently, Blizzard revealed a bunch of new lore for the character on a blog post about the game. The move was orchestrated in order to free Akande Ogundimu, a risky criminal who we know to go by the name of Doomfist.

The official Blizzard post said: "Information and details of what happened were scarce as has been any news from the installation, said to be a prison for the world's most risky threats". Not only does this broadcast finally identify and confirms the name of the person who caused all the destruction in the Numbani airport and stole the gauntlet: Akande Ogundimu aka the last person to wield the Doomfist, but it also explains the events leading up to that.

We are yet to see any visuals of the character, or get a definitive date for him to join the Overwatch roster, but this essentially confirms that the Doomfist is loose, he's coming, and he's pissed.

"It began in the early hours of the morning, when an unidentified aircraft approached the facility". Initially, security reported that there were not any passengers on board according to radar scans.

Winston allegedly killed a Doomfist at one point (the name doubles as a title) and Widowmaker once tried to steal the gauntlet. The craft passed through the range of the installation's defence systems without incident, leading some to believe that Talon has moles within Helix.

Video surveillance from within the compound showed a shadowy figure emerging from the unknown craft and proceeding through the prison grounds.

"The unidentified assailant easily overcame the Helix security agents, leaving over a dozen dead", reads the report from the in-game publication. Tell us what you think in the comment section below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.

The Doomfist moniker has been held by numerous people of different allegiances, with the first being "The Savior", the second "The Scourge", and third "The Successor".
