The condition of the 35-year-old boyfriend - a street vendor named Ravi - is said to be stable after he underwent surgery.
"The victim told us that when they went into the washroom, the woman asked him to have sex with her". Ravi later told the police he had said his family was against it, and that was what caused matters to escalate. "He believed she was involved with someone else", said a senior police officer.
According to Times of India, woman's brother and sister-in-law, who were in the house at the time, saw Ravi being stripped and shoved into the bathroom. "She then brought back a knife and attacked me", said the man in his complaint.
