TBI Director Mark Gwyn is a part of a major press conference that was held around 9:30 Thursday night (6/15/2017) in front of Love's Truck Stop on Epps Mill Road.

The two were being held at the Rutherford County jail.

A photograph posted on the website of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution showed the two suspects handcuffed and lying on the ground shirtless with about a dozen law enforcement personnel surrounding them.

Sills agreed with reporters that Dubose will have trouble hiding his prominent tattoos, which include crowns above his eyebrows, a star below his right ear and graffiti-style letters all across his neck.

Two escaped inmates sought in the killings of two guards on a Georgia prison bus were captured Thursday in Tennessee after holding an elderly couple captive and leading police on a chase by auto and foot, authorities said. Tennessee Highway Patrol Lieutenant Bill Miller told NewsRadio WGNS what happened.

The fugitives tied them up, and when the man tried to break free, they tied him up tighter, putting socks on his hands so he couldn't loosen his bonds, Swing said.

A police spokesperson in Tennessee said once the couple called authorities, they found the fugitives, which led to a chase that included the suspect's allegedly shooting at officers. Other units were informed and officials chased the vehicle on Interstate 24.

The prisoners, armed with the officers' weapons, then allegedly carjacked a resident who was driving by, and fled west toward Eatonton, the sheriff's office said.

The escapees stayed inside the Shelbyville home for nearly three hours before fleeing.

After Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose invaded a first home in rural Tennessee, they stole a auto and exchanged fire with law enforcement during a high-speed chase.

The two escapees are believed to have been in this area, because Donnie Russell Rowe is from Lewisburg.

They were on the run for three days before being apprehended.

Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said it's a relief to have the inmates back in custody.

Georgia's Sheriff Sills commented, "This was a brutal double murder of two correctional officers that occurred in my county. I am grateful to everybody and thankful to God himself for minimizing any further harm to anyone".

Georgia's governor expressed thanks and praise for law enforcement after the capture of two escaped inmates sought in the killings of two prison guards. It's an ideal situation in the end.

Sills had described the fugitives earlier as "dangerous beyond description".

Multiple agencies were involved in the men's arrest and as many as three dozen officers responded to the scene.

LeValley stresses that the reward is for information leading to an arrest.

The saga began this past Tuesday (6/13/2017) morning on a rural highway in Madison County, Georgia, just south of Atlanta. The homeowner and a neighbor held the two suspects at gunpoint until deputies arrived to the home where authorities said the escapees were trying to steal another vehicle. He called them violent repeat offenders and extremely unsafe, having taken the guards' 9 mm pistols.

Rowe, 43, was serving life without parole for a 2001 armed robbery in Bibb County.
