However, there could be a late twist in the tail as the Express are quoting journalist Josep Pedrerol as telling TV show El Chiringuito that Chelsea are set to make a late hijack attempt to snare Morata from under United's noses.
However, Morata has now emerged as a key target for Chelsea, to replace fellow Spain worldwide Diego Costa.
While it's noted in the report that Morata has agreed on personal terms with the Red Devils, it's claimed that Abramovich is ready to sanction a staggering £70m bid for the Spanish global to try and tempt him to turn down Man Utd and in turn accept a move to Stamford Bridge instead.
The Spain global then took to Instagram to post a picture of the couple's special day.More news: Greece hoping to finally secure long-term debt relief deal
It is understood that Conte tried to sign Morata again for Chelsea last summer.
The 24-year-old managed just 16 starts in all competitions last season with the likes of Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of him in the pecking order so with a World Cup coming up next summer, Morata wants a move in search of regular action.
A move to Chelsea would mean he finally gets to link up with Conte, a manager he is desperate to work with and who signed him at Juventus before leaving to take charge of Italy. Madrid said they didn't want to sell, so here I am.
"I remember talking to my dad then and him saying: 'This guy's going to win the league there'".
'I feel indebted to him because he's the coach that most trusted in me, most wanted me, who made me feel I could perform at the highest level. This is very odd and in the next few days I'll talk to him.
