Father killed in front of children after responding to ad about dog

A Jacksonville man was shot and killed by a house guest in front of his children and fiancée after responding to a Facebook ad for a dog, according to his fiancée.

The man posted to Facebook that a dog had jumped into the cab of his truck at a job site and he was looking to find it a home.

Chelsea Bowman and Christopher "Scott" Bowman were divorced, but we're planning to remarry. She says the man overstayed his welcome, taking off his shoes and refusing to leave.

According to the woman, when Scott went to use the restroom, the unwelcome guest, whom she described as "very, very volatile" and drunk, waited for him to come out, then proceeded to beat him. Then, the man shot Scott Bowman, 39, in the chest.

Chelsea Bowman said the younger daughter ran to get help.
