The new iPad is equipped with a new feature dubbed ProMotion which reduces the Apple Pencil's latency to 20 milliseconds.

Apple's all-in-one iMac has gone Pro with powerful new processors and graphics created to meet the needs of professional users.

Yes, it's a powerful system - the baseline systems ship with a 27-inch 500-nit 5K display and eight-core Intel Xeon processors, and 18-core systems can be configured.

A larger 12.5-inch model will is also available, while the iPad Mini has been dropped from the range as rumors suggested it would. While the 10.5-inch iPad Pro starts at $649 for the base 64GB Wi-Fi-only model and goes all the way to $1079 for the top-end 512GB Wi-Fi plus Cellular model; the 12.9-inch iPad Pro starts at $799 for the base 64GB Wi-Fi-only model and goes all the way to $1229 for the top-end 512GB Wi-Fi plus Cellular model.

"This will be our fastest and most powerful Mac ever, which brings workstation-class computing to iMac for the first time", said Apple VP of Hardware Engineering John Ternus in a prepared statement. Those bets didn't pan out so Apple announced a few weeks ago that they were going back to the drawing board.

One of the keys to the iMac Pro's architecture is an 80 percent improvement in cooling capacity.

Apple is also launching AFKit, which Apple is hoping will allow iPhone and iPad to become a major augmented reality (AR) platform.

WWDC was definitely another huge year for iOS 11, and Apple executives showed off a host of new features for iPad - as well as a brand-new 10.5-inch model. GST for the 64GB with Wi-Fi model and starting at RRP A$1179 inc.

I couldn't hear Siri super well given how loud the demo area was, but the updated female Siri voice sounded about the same and still had a robotic edge to it. It will be available in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia in December. Apple would have likely been better off relaunching a high-powered Mac tower that's more modular.

We also learned that the machine won't have user accessible RAM, but Apple will be offering some of its usual upgrade options at the time of purchase. Hopefully, this will work to resolve the issue of offline file access - something that pushed me towards a Window 10 tablet for when I travel.

Apple's new tablets have always been expected but no one knew it would be this good. And while both get some attention it's fair to say they are at a point of maturity now where we can expect refinements rather than massive UI changes.

The iMac Pro will start at a base price of $4,999, and will rise accordingly based on the configuration of the model. The new iPad hardware will work with the new iOS 11 software landing this fall to squeeze even more performance and features from the tablets. Apple added new photo-editing tools like curves, and it has better filtering features to sort images by keywords or faces.
