Some LGBT facts for Pride Month

On Thursday, Ivanka tweeted out a Pride month message, writing, "Logging back on after Shavuot, wishing everyone a joyful #Pride2017".

Trump is not only NOT a friend, he is, in fact, a huge enemy to our community, despite his daughter's claims of love and support for all her LGBT friends.

Ivanka has also billed herself as strong White House supporter of women's empowerment and of LGBTQ rights, though she has shown little for her advocacy, a point that Twitter users didn't want to let her forget.

On Wednesday, May 31, Trump signed a proclamation declaring June to be "National Caribbean-American Heritage Month, 2017". Trump and his administration ignored Pride Month entirely as he turned his limited attention to pulling out of the Paris Accord on the environment and continuing to gnash his teeth about Kathy Griffin's ill-advised photo holding his bloodied head.

Pride Month is celebrated in June. "This month we honor the #LGBTQ community", read one.

"I am proud to support my LGBTQ friends and the LGBTQ Americans who have made vast contributions to our society and economy", she tweeted.

Donald Trump once said he would do everything in his power to "protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression of a hateful, foreign ideology". In February, Trump revoked guidelines that allow transgender students to use bathrooms and locker rooms matching their chosen gender identity.

From 2009 until 2016, President Obama had issued annual Proclamations recognising the month of June as LGBT Pride Month and hosted LGBT festivities inside the White House.
