Blizzard has been busy teasing new skins, maps and emotes.
The use of "Arena maps" is interesting, as it's not a term that's been widely used before. Fans have been feasted with a brief look of some of the upcoming maps, Skins and other new features for Overwatch.
A three-week long Overwatch Anniversary event will take place to celebrate the one year since the game's release.
Joe Skrebels is IGN's UK News Editor, and he's unsure if he'll be as excited about his first child's first birthday as much as this.
"Here's a sneak peek at three new ARENA MAPS coming soon to our Overwatch Anniversary celebration".More news: Abuse of migrant workers continues, says Amnesty International
Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan recently suggested that the studio would be open to more Blizzard crossover content in the future.
"Players will also be able to level up, earn Loot Boxes, and unlock a variety of different customisation options". We felt like, for our first year, it was really important not to do that stuff.
A new set of Overwatch shorts are on the way. "So I think we would like to do it at some point". "If players decide to purchase a copy of Overwatch after the free weekend, they'll get to keep any progress made during the weekend".
On the Xbox One in particular, the gamer has to be a Gold member to enjoy the free-to-play promo.
According to Kaplan, while an expansion pack or sequel for Overwatch could be cool, the development team now has no idea what that would look like.
Next up is a small preview of some of the new Legendary skins posted by the Chinese Overwatch facebook page. "The animated shorts are probably the thing that we have the most fun making", Kaplan explained.
