2 school bus crashes have killed 2 drivers, injured students

A 16-year-old Ashland High School student was killed Friday Morning in a car-bus collision south of Ashland.

Two students on the bus were transported to Memorial Medical Center and the remaining were taken by bus to the hospital for evaluation.

Along with Salem Lakes Fire and Rescue, four other departments responded to the scene, where students received transportation to the fire station in Trevor.

A vehicle rear ended a school bus on State Highway 112 around 7:45 a.m. Friday morning approximately 2 miles south of Ashland County.

20 students were on the bus at the time, according to authorities.

Highway C between Highway 83 and 258th Avenue was closed in both east and westbound directions.

The posted speed limit is 55 miles per hour on Highway C, which closed between Highway 83 and 258th Avenue while authorities investigated the crash. The was transporting students to Westosha Central High School.
