Celtics win draft lottery; Lakers get No. 2 pick

The Celtics are going to have a high draft pick in this upcoming draft and have many options they can go from.

Not only that, but they would have had to trade their 2019 first-round pick to Orlando if that happened, so Johnson was all smiles even after finishing behind the rival Celtics. After having the best odds for the No. 1 pick in 1997, Boston missed out on the chance to get Tim Duncan; in 1986, the Celtics landed the No. 2 overall pick and used it on Len Bias, who died two days later of a cocaine overdose.

The lottery basically determines the first 14 picks in the draft and includes the teams that did not qualify for the postseason.

The timing was flawless for the Celtics, as Brooklyn finished with the worst record in the league.

ESPN has already reported that Fultz is the clear choice for the Celtics if they keep the pick instead of trading it to acquire a star such as Paul George or Jimmy Butler.

Meanwhile, the Lakers leapfrogged the Suns to get the No. 2 overall pick, despite finishing with a better record than Phoenix.

There's a theory, however, that Danny Ainge is hesitant to use any of his precious assets to continue to build the team as long as LeBron James is at the height of his powers. Fultz, in response, said that Ball's comments were motivating while also stating that he should go No. 1. 'In this day's National Basketball Association, picks are very, very valuable. The Celtics won 25 games in the first season after the trade but their win total has improved in each of the next three seasons, culminating in getting the top seed in the Eastern Conference this season.

You may remember back in 2013 when the Celtics sent Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Jason Terry to the Nets in exchange for Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, and their future: the Nets first-round picks in 2014, 2016, 2018, and the right to swap picks in 2017.

"Game last night, Game 7, a tough Washington team".

On Tuesday night, they received the top pick in a talented and deep draft headlined by guards Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball.

The Philadelphia 76ers select third overall, which is considered the lowest spot Ball would be drafted. Bring him in before the max salaries kick in. The Orlando Magic and Minnesota Timberwolves are sixth and seventh while the New York Knicks are eighth.

All of these questions will be speculated about until answers are finally given at the end of June, but for now, here are my projections for the first round of the NBA Draft.
