OnePlus 5 name confirmed by OnePlus itself

As seen on the image, the smartphone device features a dual camera module, which has been the most heavily rumored OnePlus 5 characteristic up to date.

OnePlus just announced it has joined forces with DxO to "enhance your photography experience" with the upcoming OnePlus 5.

For those who are not aware, DxO is brand behind the popular photography benchmarking site, DxOMark.

OnePlus has been improving the cameras in its smartphones with each new flagship device that it has released over the years. Google promoted the DxOMark score that the Pixel received for its camera a year ago during its unveiling.

As of now, the OnePlus 5 is rumoured to have a dual-camera lens.

"Working alongside DxO, we're confident the OnePlus 5 will be capable of capturing some of the clearest photos around", a OnePlus rep said on the company's forums. While the extent of the partnership is unclear at this stage, it suggests that OnePlus' upcoming device is gunning for the top spot in the DxOMark rankings - a scored system that compares every smartphone camera on the market. Some reports, including this one, indicates that it will be vertically aligned, but other indicates that it will be aligned horizontally. It will also offer a choice of 64GB or 128GB storage, and will be launched within the next two months - either June or July - but you'll have to wait until summer before you can get your hands on one.

Since we can't see the front of the handset, it's impossible to know how big the screen is and whether it will indeed keep a physical home button that would sit beneath the display. It's good to hear that OnePlus recognizes this and is focusing on including a great camera with its next flagship, especially since the mobile photography competition is getting heated lately with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Google Pixel.
