The plane was identified by the Federal Aviation Administration as a Beechcraft Bonanza BE36, a small single-engine aircraft with six seats. Bevin issued a statement in a tweet saying, "We've received word of a multiple fatality plane crash in Hopkinsville", and asked for prayers for those affected. Contact was lost with the plane after a few minutes and the controllers notified Christian County authorities. Deputies arrived on scene just after noon Friday.
