Rashford steers Man United into Europa League semifinals

Man Utd still lack killer touch?

Manchester United will be eyeing a spot in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals when they host Anderlecht on Thursday night. He will undergo a scan to assess the damage and if United's worst fears are confirmed, it threatens to be a considerable loss, even if Rashford's end-of-season form indicates he is ready to fill the void.

United advanced 3-2 on aggregate to join Lyon, Ajax and Celta Vigo in the last four, after a tension-filled night of quarterfinal second legs in Europe's second-tier continental club competition.

"They have to be fearless now".

The draw for the semifinals takes place on Friday.

After Ibrahimovic wasted two great chances in the final stages of normal time, the contest went into extra time and Rashford settled the tie with a fine finish early in the second period. He managed to get to his feet and wave away the waiting stretcher but was helped off as he limped down the tunnel at the Stretford End.

Further, as he has yet to sign an extension with his current deal expiring this summer, it was suggested that he may well have played his last game for United.

Ibrahimovic, who has scored 28 goals this season since his free transfer from Paris St-Germain in the summer, is yet to agree an extension on his one-year United deal.

Rojo had twisted a knee going for a tackle and having received some lengthy treatment, tried to continue before it became obvious in the next challenge that he was in no state to carry on.

Rojo's injury leaves United potentially short in defence as Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are sidelined. Manchester United were really strong and very impressive.
