The Fate of the Furious breaks global box office record

Asian-American filmmaker Justin Lin ("Better Luck Tomorrow") took over the movies until Asian-Australian James Wan ("Saw") directed "Furious 7".

The action movie did not only broke this record but also surpassed fellow Universal movie ' Jurassic World' to score the best worldwide launch of all time.

(L to R) Roman (TYRESE GIBSON), Tej (CHRIS "LUDACRIS" BRIDGES), Little Nobody (SCOTT EASTWOOD), Hobbs (DWAYNE JOHNSON), Ramsey (NATHALIE EMMANUEL) and Letty (MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ) realize Dom's gone rogue in "The Fate of the Furious".

"Fate", meanwhile, opened in North America and 63 worldwide markets, including China, the United Kingdom and Mexico. Not only this, when we talk about the English movies released in India recently, Fast and Furious has emerged as the biggest release and strongest performer.

For all its strong showing, Fast & Furious 8 earned almost a third less in its first North American weekend than Fast & Furious 7, which drew US$147.2 million.

The massive global opening for Fate of the Furious was thanks in large part to its showing in China where it brought in a record $195 million over the weekend. There might be a lot of things that aren't exactly realistic in the Fast and Furious franchise, but a stunt like that would likely not result in laughter so much as shaken baby syndrome. Clearly, the eight film franchise is doing something right.

Fate of the Furious is marked by success based on this weekend's turnout in the box office. It was third place domestically, with $13.7 million.

The film has the usual elaborate auto chases, this time through the streets of Cuba and across a frozen lake.

The Oscar victor plays the villain in The Fate of the Furious, joining franchise stars Vin Diesel, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for the eighth installment of the street racing films. It is all due to the announcement that Universal made for the movie saying a ninth and tenth installments are going to happen for the years 2019 and 2021, respectively. If you see the film in April and think in some scenes that I'm really angry, its true and really my blood boils.
