Apple Preps to Release First Products of 2017

The surprise announcement also comes just a week or so after initial reports had conflicted, to an extent, in regards to when Apple would be releasing its updated 9.7-, 10.5-, and 12.9-inch iPad models, a 128 GB iPhone SE refresh, and potentially more.

As MacRumors spotted, Apple's system status page now shows that the Apple Store will be down tomorrow morning from 3.00AM to 8.30AM.

Rumors have widely suggested a trio of new "thin" iPads with far smaller bezels.

However, Apple has hosted March events four times in the past six years, and in 2011 and 2012, it introduced new iPad models at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Previous rumors have heavily emphasized that at least three new iPad models will be unveiled this month.

They said they were "certain" that the release of the large-size tablets "would not come until May of June".

Mac Otakara said the 10.5-inch-will have the same overall footprint as the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro thanks to its edge-to-edge design.

Apple also lists Photo Print Products are also scheduled for maintenance at the same time, which could mean that they'll be updating the infrastructure for that or suggest that this maintenance is not related to new products.

The earlier report claimed the top bezel will remain in order to provide space for the front-facing FaceTime camera, but it will likely be slimmer.

There is huge possibility that the iPad 4, iPad mini 2 and iPhone 5 will all miss out on iOS 11 compatibility, but we'll have to wait for the company to make an official statement.

Why shut the site for so long if not to add some new stuff?

The device is expected to feature a almost bezel-less design, which means despite having a larger screen, it will be the same physical footprint as the 9.7-inch iPad model. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro model is estimated to be priced for as low as $299. Apple can also launch new versions of watchOS and tvOS, the operating systems that run on the Apple Watch and the Apple TV.

Not much information is available about the next update, however people have already shown interest in a Health app, Home app, and dedicated Music app for MacOS.
